Salam to Syria

 

Salam to Syria fosters collaboration between artists of Syrian descent and artists from other countries. The Salam to Syria chamber music concert series celebrates the diversity of Syrian culture and heritage while facilitating mutual respect and appreciation between Syrian immigrants and host people. The series features artists of Syrian descent and collaborators from various ethnic backgrounds.

Creative Forums for Syrian refugees and local people may be scheduled in association with concerts, depending on the needs of local communities.

Inspirational Forums:
Inspiration and motivation, musician-led discussion of the importance of education and dedication
Inspiration and motivation, musician-led and artist-led discussions of migration from Syria

Educational Forums:
Health education, mental trauma
Health education, gender discrimination
Health education, living with chronic disease
Health education, how the health system in Germany differs from other countries*
*A health literacy film developed by Global Health Equity Foundation in collaboration with the Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) and Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) is the basis for some health education workshops. The film details the health rights and responsibilities of incoming refugees.

 

Proceeds from Salam to Syria fund community based media projects that focus on assimilation and integration of Syrian refugees in Germany.
